Wallabies 2014

This year, like the last, we were fortunate enough to work with the Australian Rugby Union Team during the 2014 Rugby Championship.

It is always a challenging but enjoyable period of work as we not only get to work with some of the worlds elite athletes but due to the social environment we get to interact with the players and staff. For any Sports therapists this is always a treat.

This year Hamish Macauley, head physiotherapists, implemented a new ‘player condition tracking system’ . The software, run online, allows all therapists to add notes and concerns for each player and creates a player profile with all the players conditional statuses. The system works well and is easy to use and I will look to add a similar system to my practice.

Unfortunatly, for the Wallabies, Newlands is not an easy place to play and the Springboks came away with an impressive win.

We will be keeping an eye on the Australian outfit as they prepare for next year’s Rugby World Cup and we look forward to working with the team again.
